The Stashit Story

Hey there! I'm Mike Datelle, and I want to share with you the story of Stashit, a tool I created out of my own need, which I believe can help others organize their digital life. My journey with Stashit started from a personal itch - the frustration of managing digital content across different platforms.

The Problem that Sparked an Idea

As someone who collects a lot of digital content, I found myself constantly annoyed by having to jump from one service to another just to find what I was looking for. It was even more frustrating when important emails, like newsletters or important work emails, got buried under the never-ending stream of new messages. What about just moving them to a separate folder you ask? Yeah, tried that, but it was just another step in the never-ending game of digital hide-and-seek.

Building Stashit: My Solution

That's when I decided to build a solution and created Stashit. I originally envisioned it as a central hub where you could store all your files, emails, web content, and images. I wanted something super easy to use, something that would make finding whatever you need a breeze. The major cloud storage providers in the market never really satisfied me with their user experience, and I have my doubts about their approach to privacy. So, I was very selective about the third-party services and hosting providers for Stashit, choosing only those with a solid reputation for privacy.

I put a lot of effort into the user experience of Stashit. My goal was to make it intuitive and hassle-free, addressing the common annoyances we all face with digital content management.
